Description

The H&K P8A1 is a full-sized, polymer-framed pistol with both single-action and double-action functionality, designed for home defense and tactical applications. Based on the renowned HK USP (Universal Self-loading Pistol), which became the standard sidearm for the German Bundeswehr in 1994, the P8A1 brings military-grade performance to civilian use. This model features unique specifications tailored for the Bundeswehr, including translucent magazines, a traditional lands-and-grooves barrel (instead of the typical polygonal barrel), and a reversed safety/decocker lever—down for “safe” and up for “fire,” which is the opposite of the standard USP configuration. Additionally, the frame displays the “S” and “F” markings instead of the lever. The P8A1 incorporates a modified Browning-type action paired with a patented recoil reduction system, which reduces recoil both for the pistol’s components and for the shooter’s hands, offering enhanced control and comfort.
